In the FCA Handbook Library, several courses have undergone their annual update. These updates include a full subject matter expert review, refreshed news stories, text enhancements throughout, and revised activities and scenarios to ensure accuracy and engagement. The updated courses include BCOBS - Distance Communications, CASS 8 - Mandates, Ethical Standards in Finance and Investment, Financial Crime Prevention, and Good Outcomes for Vulnerable Customers.
The Insurance Compliance Library has also received its annual course updates. These updates incorporate expert reviews, refreshed news stories, and improvements to course activities and scenarios. The revised courses are CASS 5 - Client Money - Insurance Distribution Activity, CASS 8 - Mandates, Ethical Standards in Insurance and Investment, Financial Crime Prevention, and Good Outcomes for Vulnerable Customers.
In the Essentials Library, multiple courses have been updated as part of the annual review process. Alongside subject matter expert reviews and content refreshes, these updates include improvements to readability and interactivity. The updated courses include Financial Sanctions, Embargoes and Sanctions, Bribery Prevention, Competition Law, Conflicts of Interest, Data Protection, Environmental Awareness, Environmental, Social & Governance, Equality & Diversity in the Workplace, Equality & Diversity for Managers, EU DAC, and Market Abuse Regulation.

In the FCA Compliance Library, all courses in the OTS FCA Compliance Library have undergone a comprehensive design upgrade. This includes transforming simple text and photo pages into more interactive and engaging layouts, incorporating additional images on selected pages, updating all legacy elements to the latest fully accessible versions, and applying a new skin design across all courses. These changes aim to improve usability, accessibility, and the overall learner experience.
The Insurance Compliance Library has seen a revision in course titling to reduce confusion across different versions. The OTS course previously titled "Whistleblowing in Financial Services" has now been renamed "Whistleblowing in Insurance" within the Insurance Compliance Library, while the version in the FCA Compliance Library will continue to be called "Whistleblowing in Financial Services."
In the Essentials Library, the courses "Information Security" and "Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing" have received their annual updates. These updates include expert reviews, refreshed content, and updated activities to align with best practices, alongside improvements to readability. The same updates have been applied to the Global Compliance Library, ensuring consistency across different compliance frameworks.
The Compliance Bites Library has undergone a review and update of several modules, including "Preventing Tipping Off," "Terrorist Financing Red Flags," and "The Protected Characteristics (UK)." These updates ensure the content remains relevant and reflective of current regulatory standards.

We have launched several updates and a new course across multiple libraries to ensure our compliance training remains current and comprehensive.
In the FCA Compliance library, the courses "CASS Overview," "COBS - Suitability," and "Training and Competence" received their annual updates. These updates include a full review by subject matter experts, refreshed news stories, revised text throughout the courses, and updated activities and scenarios to enhance learning.
The Insurance Compliance library also underwent annual updates for "CASS Overview," "CONC - Consumer Credit Regulations," and "Training and Competence." These updates include the same thorough reviews and revisions to ensure accuracy and relevance for learners in the insurance sector.
In the SMCR library, updates were applied to several courses, including "Conduct Rules for Senior Managers at FCA Solo Firms," "Conduct Rules for Senior Managers at Dual Regulated Firms," "Conduct Rules for Senior Managers at Insurance Firms," and "Conduct Rules for Non-Executive Directors (NEDs)." Each of these courses has undergone comprehensive reviews, including updates to news stories, activities, scenarios, and text revisions.
The Essentials library saw the addition of a new course, "Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence," reflecting the growing importance of ethical AI practices in compliance. Additionally, the annual updates have been applied to several courses, including "Display Screen Equipment (DSE)," "Hybrid Working," "Managing Remote Workers," "Phishing," "Return to Work," "Suspicious Activity Reporting," "To Pay or Not to Pay?," and "Working Remotely." The Global Compliance library received updates to "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)" and "General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)." Both courses were reviewed by subject matter experts and include updated news stories, revised content, and new activities and scenarios.

In the SMCR Library, we have introduced new "Meeting the Conduct Rules" courses designed for Certified Persons and Conduct Rule Employees, which consolidate and replace the previously separate modules. The new courses include "Meeting the Conduct Rules in FCA Solo Regulated Firms," "Meeting the Conduct Rules in Dual Regulated Firms," and "Meeting the Conduct Rules in Insurance Firms." These courses feature extensively rewritten assessments, updated scenarios, and insights from SME Katharine Leaman. Additionally, the "Conduct Rules for Senior Managers" and "Conduct Rules for Non-Executive Directors (NEDs)" courses have been updated, and the title of "Conduct Rules for Senior Managers at Banking Firms" has been revised to "Conduct Rules for Senior Managers at Dual Regulated Firms" to reflect its broader applicability.
In the Compliance Bites library, several modules have been updated with new scripts and voiceovers. These include "Electricity," "Forced Labour Indicators," "Money Laundering Red Flags," "The 4D Bystander Intervention Model," and "Understanding Sanctions."
In the Essentials library, we have added a new course on the "Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA)." In the Global Compliance Library, we have introduced new courses, including "Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA)" and "Preventing Sexual Harassment." Updates have also been made to the Cybersecurity and Information Security modules to cater to DORA. The Modern Slavery course has received its annual update as well.
Other courses in the Essentials library have undergone annual updates across multiple courses, including Anti-Competitive Agreements, Preventing Radicalisation, Third-Party Due Diligence, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risks of Virtual Assets, Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, IR35, Cybersecurity, PDMR Dealing, Legitimate Interest Assessments, Tipping Off, Customer Due Diligence, Gifts and Hospitality, Counter-Proliferation Financing, and DSE.
October 2024- Course Updates

We have launched a new full-length course in the FCA Compliance library called “Introduction to the Perimeter Guidance Manual”. This course provides a high-level introduction to the Perimeter Guidance Manual (PERG), including how it fits into FCA regulation and how to apply it in the daily workflow. It examines the regulatory perimeter and the contents of PERG, which provides guidance about the circumstances in which FCA authorisation is required or exempt person status is available.
The Compliance Bites library saw the launch of 20 new learning modules, each with a targeted 1-question assessment. Under Bribery Prevention, we introduced Bribery Offences and Penalties. Updates to the Competition Law section now cover topics, including Cartels, Online Selling Restrictions, Resale Price Maintenance, and Tying and Bundling.
To enhance Cybersecurity, we added modules such as Ransomware, Spear Phishing, Reacting to Password Breaches, Transferring Information Securely, Secure Web Browsing, Guide to Secure Remote Working. New ESG courses include Identifying Who is, while Fraud Prevention now includes Fraud Offences and Penalties.
Expanding our Health & Safety courses we added modules such as 10 Steps to Healthy Working, 10 Essential Office Hygiene Practices, Working Safely, Mental Health at Work, Menopause Awareness, and New and Expectant Mothers. Finally, Minimum Disclosure Rules were added to the Tax Compliance category.
The Essentials library received an update to PCI Data Security Standard and now includes a new course on the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). Updates to Essentials Express cover courses on Abuse of Dominant Position, Abuse of Position, Corrupt Hiring Practices, and Counter-Terrorist Financing. Our Essentials Refresher library was also refreshed, with updates to Anti-Money Laundering, Equality & Diversity in the Workplace, Preventing the Facilitation of Tax Evasion, Market Abuse, and Modern Slavery.
Finally, the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) was introduced in the Global Compliance Library.

We have comprehensively updated both the FCA and Insurance versions of our OTS Introduction to the Consumer Duty and Overview of the Consumer Duty courses. The changes included an update to bring them fully in line with the latest developments following the implementation of the Consumer Duty regulation. The courses were also updated to incorporate new content on closed products ahead of the July 2024 deadline. They were also updated to incorporate examples from the FCA’s “Good practices and practices that require improvement” for each of the four consumer outcomes. New pages and guidance from the FCA’s new Dear CEO letters were added, outdated pages were deleted, and whole sections were moved to more appropriate places.
We have launched a new course in the FCA Compliance library called "Developing Secure Applications". This is a version of a course that we already have in the Global Risk library that weaves in key messages about financial services regulation as they relate to the course content. This course explains the principles behind ensuring that secure software development and deployment are taking place. It covers what the regulators consider to be key risk areas when developing secure applications and the importance of compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
We have launched a new full-length course in the Insurance Compliance library called Agency Law. This course explains the role of insurance agents, the nature of an agency relationship - the rights, duties, authority and liabilities - the types of agents and the regulations that govern them.
We have launched a new full-length course in the Global Risk library called "ESG Risk." This course explains the three elements of ESG and how they guide ethical business practices. Learners will be able to identify ESG risks and why it is important to address these effectively and describe the methods companies should employ in order to effectively identify and manage ESG risks.
We've thoroughly updated our CB GDPR International Transfers animation, which included a transcript, voiceover, and design update. All 126 CB animations have had their assessments revised and updated to better test learners' understanding of the topic in question through case study and scenario-based questions.
We have launched a new course in the Essentials library called FATCA and the CRS. This course will help learners understand the complexities of international tax compliance under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS).

We have completed a full content and design update for our entire Global Risk library. Our Credit Risk course has been retired, which has now been replaced by two distinct courses:
- Credit Risk for Financial Firms - All companies are exposed to credit risk. Financial firms are further exposed to credit risk as they actively take credit risk to generate income. This course will help your employees to understand what credit risk is, its components and how to recognise credit events.
- Credit Risk for Non-Financial Firms - Credit risk is a form of financial risk that all companies are exposed to. This type of risk can arise in several different ways. Managing credit risk should be aligned with risk management process. This course will help your staff to understand what credit risk is, its components and how to recognise credit events.
We have launched a new course titled Fundamentals of Risk Management 9: Continual Improvement of Risk Management. In this course, learners will learn what continuous improvement is, what its four principles are, and how to improve risk culture and strengthen the risk management framework.
We have started the process of reviewing all the assessments attached to our Compliance Bites to ensure better wording and question format.
