EDF Energy needed to train 15,000 employees in response to new bribery legislation. They partnered with Skillcast to create unique Anti-Bribery e-learning.
As part of its adequate procedures in relation to the UK Bribery Act 2010, EDF Energy required around 15,000 employees to complete a learning module and assessment. The department involved had not used e-learning before and was keen to have ownership and control of the content.
The Company Internal Controls team decided to develop an e-learning module based on Skillcast's ready-made Anti-Bribery course.
“We decided to use the Skillcast course because it offered the content we needed in an example-based format that was easy for all levels of the organisation to understand”
Mark Bromley, Head of Business Performance and Internal Control, EDF
The team opted to use the self-customisation option using Skillcast Author. They were given a training session carried out on Webex by their Skillcast consultant.
Joanne Aldridge, Internal Control Operations Manager added, ”After just one hour of training on the system we were able to make all the changes we needed to reflect our policies and procedures, the system was very easy to use and provided us with significant flexibility.”
The team tailored the course to meet their requirements within two weeks and used the Skillcast project management functions to set up a team of reviewers and email then direct links to the content from within the Skillcast Authoring tool. As a result of these efficient systems the course was ready for release in just 4 weeks.
The course was delivered to EDF Energy in SCORM format for rolling out on their Moodle platform. The Skillcast technology team worked with the third party Moodle operators to ensure a smooth integration with the Moodle system.
Ability to deliver consistent training and assessment to a large number of employees quickly and cost-effectively.
“We have had excellent feedback on our anti-bribery training from our Executive Team and all levels of the organisation. Our Chief Financial Officer was particularly impressed with the simplicity and interactive nature of the course. Many employees have also commented on this and the benefits of using e-learning as a cost effective means of reaching the masses. We are now progressing to develop more compliance courses with Skillcast as a result of this positive feedback”
